When you’re an artist and a friend has a birthday

One of the most rewarding feelings is gifting something you’ve made with your own two hands. That’s why I love when friends or family members that are fans of my work have a birthday. I always know they’ll be wanting jewelry and specifically jewelry I made.
This past month my dear friend, Maegan, had a birthday. She has a stash of stones in my studio waiting for me to make something out of, so I snuck in her stash and made her this Smoky Quartz Ring. I took this oblong square shaped smoky quartz and set it in one of my classic iron gate like settings, and flanked it with two succulent blossoms. I then added my classic split band ring, and bam! This beauty was born.
I’m so happy with how it turned out and cant wait to get this one-of-a-kind ring to her even though it took me over a week past her actual birthday to create. I hope she enjoys it for many birthdays to come.
